"Our stay at Heart of the Village was exceptional. We felt comfortable and relaxed from the first moment we stepped in, and that continued throughout our stay. Everything was delightful, from the common rooms of the inn, to our own lovely room, and Anatoly's breakfasts were truly amazing and delicious. Rose and Anatoly are a new class of innkeepers - genuine and committed to their guests' happy experience. The inn has a lot of special details that will lift your heart and restore your spirits. Right outside the doors of the inn, the village of Shelburne offers much within walking distance (bookstore, coffee and wine shop, great restaurants, and lots more, and nearby Burlington is terrific. We highly recommend this B&B, and would love to come back."
"Just drove home from Vermont and needed to write a review asap! What a great experience at Heart of the Village! I can't say enough about how friendly and inviting Rose and Anatoly were. It was like arriving me staying with close relatives. The room was very cozy and clean and the Inn has great indoor and outdoor seating if some "stay at home" r&r is desired. No amount of adjectives could describe or over exaggerate how tasty the breakfast is. I personally tried multiple items and in my opinion it is impossible to make a bad choice. Thank you for a great experience and I'm looking forward to our next stay!"
"Heart of the Village Inn gets everything exactly right. From its pristine, beautifully decorated rooms to its relaxing ambience to its exquisite breakfasts (made to order from an enormous list of possibilities), it's a wonderful place to stay. You can tell that the owners treasure their Victorian home, which they've done up with both antiques and modern art -- a thoughtful blend that works -- and enjoy Shelburne itself. Knowing that we like walking, they suggested the Colchester Causeway, which seems to stretch into the middle of Lake Champlain, with magnificent views of both Mount Mansfield and the Adirondacks. In terms of location, the inn is terrific -- a short walk to the Shelburne Museum and around the corner from a good restaurant and a pleasant, well-stocked country store, as well as other nice shops. Really, Heart of the Village Inn just bowls you over."
"If you look up "Charm", there would be a picture here. My stay here couldn't have gone better: the ground itself is pleasant and easy to look at. There was ample parking (which was especially great for an inn). The central location in Shelburne makes it walking distance from at least a dozen nice places to eat and shop--including a grocery store for the basics. Rose and Anatoly take care of everything, and the whole process has an updated feel of how an inn can work. The building is old, the rooms recent, the locks new, but the feeling is timeless."
"My husband and I were lucky enough to be invited to this beautiful inn by some friends. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we didn't know what to expect. The owners were so welcoming and warm. We had many great conversations with them and learned a lot about the area. The breakfast was so fantastic!! Everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxing. I have already recommended it to many of my clients. I wish I had grabbed some business cards to hand out because my hand is tired from writing the information for people. We will definitely return."
"We had a delightful stay at Heart of the Village! Rose and Anatoly were gracious hosts and made everything about our stay smooth and relaxing. The custom breakfast was truly phenomenal! Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable! All in all, this was one of my favorite B&B experiences of all time! Highest recommendations on all counts! We will be back!!"
"Let me tell you about a magical place called the Heart of the Village Inn where you enter as a friend and you leave as family. The moment we entered the main house we were greeted with smiles and offered refreshments. Anatoly and Rose made us feel right at home! We chatted for a long time before we were shown to our beautiful room. Our accommodations were charming! We picked the Bostwick room in the carriage house and we were not disappointed! Rose and Anatoly have taken great care with the appointments in both the main house and the carriage house. The custom chandelier in the dining room made of silver coffee/tea pots is a thing of beauty! Everywhere we looked there was a beautiful piece of furniture or painting that fascinated us. My husband and I have stayed at many hotels, and to be honest, a bed and breakfast is a much better experience. Speaking of breakfast, let me tell you about the breakfast! We started with a lovely greeting from Rose and progressed to one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! We started with a Vermont coffee and half a pear with cinnamon, maple drizzle and cranberries. We progressed to a loaded omelette and blueberry pancakes that were absolutely delicious! The maple syrup was local as well as all the ingredients that made up our breakfast. My husband and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year in October and we will be making arrangements to stay at the Heart of the Village Inn again. I assure you, if you decide to book a stay with Rose and Anatoly, you will not be disappointed!"
"Just left the one of a kind Bed & Breakfast right in town and local to so many things like coffee shops, wine vineyards, waterfalls, downtown bars etc.. Rose and Anatoly are the best inn keepers! Like meeting old friends you haven't seen in forever and they welcome you home when you walk through the door with a glass of wine. Even met Lucy their dog and played tug of war lol The breakfast experience all in itself a masterpiece! So yummy and specific to your requests each morning ...so many laughs amongst us and that was hilarious... I was told it was extra if I did that . Thank you so much for a wonderful romantic experience and gorgeous room with a heavenly bed and the Jacuzzi was a added bonus in our carriage house room (: Cannot wait to see you again in the winter and coming back to Vermont! "
"We loved the Heart of the Village Inn! Rose and Anatoly were wonderful hosts! So nice and so friendly, we felt like we were visiting friends! Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable as was the entire inn! Breakfast was delicious both mornings! We left each morning full and happy and ready to explore! The location is perfect! We were able to walk over to the Shelburne Museum to see the Brandi Carlile concert we were in town for and back again the next day for a car show and to experience the museum itself! There was also a great farmers market right up the street and so much more! I'm so glad I found the Heart of the Village Inn when researching where to stay! We will definitely be back! It truly is the "Heart" of the Village! Thanks again Rose and Anatoly!"
